Leidos Inc., Reston, Virginia, was awarded a $661,840,250 cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the design, architecture engineering, configuration management, system integration, aircraft integration, testing, technical and logistics support of the Airborne Reconnaissance Low-Enhanced (ARL-E) system. Bids were solicited via the Internet, with three received, with an estimated completion date of November 3, 2020. Funding and work location will be determined with each order. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen, Maryland, is the contracting activity (W56KGY-16-D-0001).

King Aerospace, Addison, Texas, was awarded a $40,259,260 firm-fixed price contract for continuation of contractor logistics support for the De Havilland Canada Dash 7 airborne reconnaissance low EO-5 aircraft. Work will be performed at Fort Bliss, Texas, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2015. Bids were solicited via the Internet, with one received. Fiscal 2015 operations and maintenance (Army) funds in the amount of $12,500,000 are being obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal (Aviation), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity (W58RGZ-15-C-0026).

Areté Associates, Tucson, Arizona, is being awarded a $11,742,120 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N61331-11-C-0007) for one AN/DVS-1 coastal battlefield reconnaissance and analysis (COBRA) Block I low-rate initial production system to support the littoral combat ship mine countermeasures mission. The primary mission of AN/DVS-1 COBRA is to conduct unmanned aerial tactical reconnaissance in littoral battlespace for detection and localization of mine fields and obstacles in the surf zone and beach zone prior to amphibious assault. Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, and is expected to be completed by February 2017. Fiscal 2014 research, development, test

General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada recently announced the Canadian Government has awarded the company a CDN $287 million ($252, 295,000 U.S.) contract to General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada for the provision and integration of an enhanced surveillance suite on to Canadian LAV III Upgrade vehicles, known as LAV 6.0.

L-3 Communications, Platform Integration Division, Waco, Texas, has been awarded a not-to-exceed $41,500,000 undefinitized contract action for the procurement and modification of four intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, training and spares in support of the counterterrorism efforts in Yemen. Work will be performed at Waco, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2015. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition, and is 100 percent foreign military sales for Yemen. Raytheon Company, McKinney, Texas, is being awarded a $50,121,721 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00019-13-C-0161) to exercise an option for the procurement of 16 APY-10 radar kits for full-rate initial production Lot I P-8A Poseidon aircraft. In addition, this option provides for installation and checkout technical support, configuration management, reliability and maintainability failure reporting and corrective actions, engineering change orders/proposals, integrated logistics support, technical data and repair. The Boeing Company and the Australian government demonstrated the ability to simultaneously command and control three robot aircraft from an airborne command platform. The demonstration featured three ScanEagle unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) controlled from a Royal Australian Air Force Wedgetail 737 airborne early warning and control aircraft. Operating 120 miles from the Wedgetail, the ScanEagles were assigned tasks such as area search, reconnaissance, point surveillance and targeting. The aircraft demonstrated extended sensing; persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and the transmission of real-time video imagery of ground targets.
