Sea-based X-band radar

Gryphon Technologies LLC, Huntsville, Alabama, is being awarded a $57,675,835 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract, including options for sea-based X-band (SBX) radar mission integration. This contract provides for communication operations and support for the SBX Strategic Mission. Work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama; and Honolulu, Hawaii, with an expected completion date of June 14, 2024. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test, and evaluation funds in the amount of $4,000,000 are being obligated at time of award. This contract was a competitive acquisition and two offers were received. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the buying activity (HQ0147-17-C-0040).

The Missile Defense Agency is announcing the award of a sole-source cost-plus-fixed-fee modification under contract HQ0147-09-C-0007 to exercise an option to The Boeing Company, Huntsville, Alabama The total value of this award is $15,092,298. Under this modification, Boeing will continue performing operation and sustainment services for the Sea Based X-band Radar. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Interocean American Shipping Corporation, Moorestown, New Jersey, is being awarded a potential $165,204,573 firm-fixed-price contract for the operation and maintenance of the Sea-Based X-Band Radar platform (SBX-1). SBX-1 will be deployed to the Pacific Ocean to provide ballistic missile-tracking information to the Ground-based Midcourse Defense System (GMD). SBX-1 will also provide advanced target and countermeasures discrimination capability for the GMD interceptor missiles.
