Northrop Grumman has been awarded a contract to provide Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures for India head-of-state aircraft.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Rolling Meadows, Illinois, has been awarded an $11,734,223 firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures on India head-of-state aircraft. Work will be performed in India and is expected to be complete by January 31, 2020. This contract involves foreign military sales. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales to India. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8625-16-C-6529).

Textron Systems Corporation, Textron Defense Systems, Wilmington, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $17,283,970 modification (P00022) to FA8682-11-C-0044 for the completion of mission control unit software development and aircraft integration for the sensor fuzed weapon. The total cumulative face value of the contract is $310,983,586. The contract modification is for the final phase of sensor fuzed weapon integration to the Indian Jaguar aircraft. This contract involves 100 percent of foreign military sales for India. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Long Range Systems Division, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity.

Argon, Luton, Befordshire, UK, has won a contract from the Indian Army's Faculty of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection at the College of Military Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra. The order includes CAMSIM, ChemPro100-SIM and GID-3-SIM.

Ultra Electronics, TCS, based in Montreal, Canada, has been awarded an order for Electronic Warfare equipment totalling $3.4 million. The system will be delivered to the Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE) in Bangalore, India. Ultra TCS will supply a shelter-based, mobile simulator system including an integrated antenna array and UltraEAGLE 0.5 - 40 GHZ ELINT receiver. The complete system will be used in a test environment to evaluate aircraft EW radar capability and provide an opportunity for pilots to assess the equipment's functionality, specifically the effectiveness of countermeasure techniques.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with then-Egyptian Minister of Defense General Abdul Fatah Khalil al-Sisi in Cairo last November. Sisi is now the president of Egypt, marking the third government in as many years in a country with an uncertain relationship with the United States.

Two countries that provide stability in their regions, though often on the brink of battle with rival neighbors, elected new leaders in May, influencing how geopolitics will move forward in the second decade of the 21st century. Their relationships with the West will affect military and economic decisions, and their vastly different political systems will require sensitive political handling.
