Space-based infrared systems and military satellite communications must sustain effective and responsive consolidated logistics management support for mission-critical national defense weapons ground/command and control systems. U.S. Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, is the contracting activity.
United Launch Services L.L.C., Littleton, Colorado, is being awarded a $1.516 billion firm-fixed-price contract for Atlas V Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) launch service in support of a Defense Meteorological Satellites Program 19; a Mobile User Objective System-3; three National Reconnaissance Office missions; and Delta IV EELV launch service in support of U.S. Air Force Space Command-4, two Global Positioning Systems, and Defense Meteorological Satellites Program-20 missions. Space and Missile Systems Center, El Segundo, California, is the contracting activity.
Col. Kimberly A. Crider, USAF, has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as mobilization assistant to the director of communications and information and chief information officer, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.
Harris Information Technology Services Corporation, Dulles, Virginia, is being awarded a more than $64 million contract modification for the network and space operations and maintenance, maintenance and logistics support to be provided to Air Force Space Command's 50th Space Wing.
J. Kokolakis Contracting Incorporated, Tarpon Springs, Florida, is being awarded a nearly $11 million contract for construction of the joint air traffic control tower at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, New Orleans, Louisiana. The work to be performed provides for the construction of a seven level air traffic control tower, including the cab that will provide day and night visual and instrumental operations and a reserve air traffic control facility. The new tower will be equipped with National Airspace System Modernization equipment. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida, is the contracting activity.
