Exelis Inc., Clifton, N.J., has been awarded a not-to-exceed $75,281,878 firm-fixed-price, time and material, undefinitized contract award for ALQ-211(V)-9 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS) pod acquisition. The contractor will provide 21 ALQ-211(V)-9 AIDEWS pods, associated support services, support equipment, countermeasures dispensing system integration and spares in support of the Turkish Air Force F-16D Block 50 program. This award is the result of a source-directed, sole-source acquisition and is 100 percent foreign military sales for Turkey. Engineering Services Network (ESN) Inc., Arlington, Va., announced recently that it has won a $700,000 contract to support the 99th Communication Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, NV. The contract is being managed by the 38th Cyberspace Engineering Installation Group (38 CEIG) at Tinker Air Force Base, OK. Under the contract, ESN will support moving the 99th Communication Squadron into a new communications facility. The company will move all aspects of the Nellis AFN Network Control Center into a new building.

The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth approximately $8 million to provide an air and missile defense planner that will be integrated into the U.S. Air Force Air Operations Center (AOC), the company recently announced. Lockheed Martin’s planner will link dissimilar weapon and sensor data with map-based planning tools and decision aids that will allow AOC operators to collaboratively plan missions with greater speed and higher confidence. By integrating the missile defense data sources on to a common visualization platform, operators can easily generate and publish planning tactical operations documents to support creation of an area air defense plan.

PLEXSYS Interface Products Inc., Camas, Wash., has been awarded an $8,254,297 sole-source, firm-fixed-price, follow-on contract for commercial training simulation services (CTSS) on contractor-owned equipment for the Airborne Warning and Control (AWACS) Mission Training Center (MTC) follow-on program. The purpose of this acquisition is to deliver continued AWACS MTC Block 30/35 CTSS on contractor-owned equipment until the trainers are replaced by Block 40/45 Mission Crew Training Systems. Block 30/35 simulation training services consist of: availability of effective high-fidelity AWACS E-3 Block 30/35 training capability; concurrency with ramp aircraft; and compliance with distributed mission operations standards.
