Elbit Systems Ltd., Haifa, Israel, announced today that it was awarded an Israeli Ministry of Defense contract, in the amount of approximately $23 million, for the operation and maintenance of its ground simulators in use by the Israeli ground forces. The 5-year contract includes a variety of simulators, both fixed and mobile, dedicated to training for tanks, armored combat vehicles, driving simulators, intelligence training and other applications.

PLEXSYS Interface Products Inc., Camas, Wash., has been awarded an $8,254,297 sole-source, firm-fixed-price, follow-on contract for commercial training simulation services (CTSS) on contractor-owned equipment for the Airborne Warning and Control (AWACS) Mission Training Center (MTC) follow-on program. The purpose of this acquisition is to deliver continued AWACS MTC Block 30/35 CTSS on contractor-owned equipment until the trainers are replaced by Block 40/45 Mission Crew Training Systems. Block 30/35 simulation training services consist of: availability of effective high-fidelity AWACS E-3 Block 30/35 training capability; concurrency with ramp aircraft; and compliance with distributed mission operations standards.

Cubic Defense Applications Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $12,575,953 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of weapon instrumentation that will integrate into the Instrumented - Tactical Engagement Simulation System, Increment II (I-TESS II) baseline capabilities. The I-TESS II system is used in military operations in urban terrain facilities and non-live fire maneuver ranges located at various Marine Corps bases and installations. Raydon Corporation, Port Orange, Fla., announced today it was awarded a multi-year contract with a value in excess of $40 million from the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation to design, develop and deliver common driver trainer systems for a variety of tactical vehicles. The Common Driver Trainer system consists of virtual trainers, which will be used to train members of the armed forces in the operation of the combat vehicles being fielded to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and to bases in both Korea and Japan, as well as technical refresh to existing common driver trainer systems fielded through the United States.
