Air Force Research Laboratory Examining Autonomous Cyber Systems

Rockwell Collins Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been awarded a $7,783,517 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for architecture and analysis for high-assurance autonomy software. This contract provides for the development of technologies in support of providing assurance in depth through the architecture and analysis for high-assurance autonomy integrated suite. Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by April 26, 2022. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and 34 offers were received. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $473,682 are being obligated at time of award. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity (FA8750-18-C-0099).

In another award, a $7,196,463 cost contract for software, Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee will provide research and development of an integrated design tool suite and reusable operation support components for constructing autonomous Cyber Physical Systems, including learning-enabled components. Work will be performed at the university and is expected to be completed by April 26, 2022. The award is the result of a competitive acquisition and 34 offers were received. Fiscal year 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $255,848 are being obligated at time of award. Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, New York, is the contracting activity (FA8750-18-C-0089).
