Armtec Providing Airborne Infrared Countermeasures to the Navy

June 27, 2018

Armtec Countermeasures Co., Coachella, California, is awarded $9,072,512 for firm-fixed-price job order under a previously awarded contract for airborne expendable infrared countermeasures. Airborne expendable infrared countermeasures provide spectrally-tailored infrared signatures to defeat the discrimination logic of advanced missile seeker threats. Work will be performed in Camden, Arkansas, and is expected to be completed by June 2019. Fiscal 2018 procurement of ammunition (Navy and Marine Corps) funding in the amount of $9,072,512 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.
