As a Navy Reservist (Areographer's Mate) whose also been a civilian GIS analyst for the shore side of the Navy for many years, I'd also suggest the Navy might want to see how many of us Reservists could help augment or be a part of the solution (i.e. through IDW). Further, if the Navy ever considered making GEOINT or GIS its own NEC, I'd jump at the opportunity and they'd have an already trained member with wealth of experience in data management that has a B.S. and certification in Geography & GIS... Point being there's bound to be more like me, or at minimum Reservists willing and capable to get the training that could help them on their civilian and military side.
