Introducing SIGNAL Kids Issue Two
AFCEA's STEM publication encourages learning for elementary school students.
Building on the success of the inaugural June issue of SIGNAL Kids, AFCEA is proud to report the second issue will be released in December. The focus of the issue is cybersecurity, featuring an international section and an interview with a chief architect from the Naval Information Warfare Center.
The first issue was viewed by more than 13,000 readers and downloaded almost 200 times. AFCEA has long been committed to STEM learning and, especially in the time of COVID-19 when virtual learning is the new normal, is pleased to provide this additional resource to parents and educators.
By 2022, the projected shortage of cybersecurity professionals worldwide will reach 1.8 million, according to the Center for Cyber Safety and Education. There’s never been a better time to encourage kids to get excited about STEM and cyber.
SIGNAL Kids is a magazine written for elementary school students ages 8-12, offering them career ideas, age-appropriate technology stories, games and fun facts with a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The publication also features kid reporters who share their relatable vantage point with young readers.
