ManTech SRS Technologies Inc., Herndon, Virginia, has been awarded a $16,255,475 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification (P00058) to contract FA8811-10-C-0002 for systems engineering and integration (SE&I) support to the Space and Missile System Launch Enterprise (SMC/ECL). The contract modification is for continued SMC/ECL SE&I supporting National Security Space Launch (NSSL) to include the overarching integration of launch and range programs, which require interfacing with both current and future NSSL launch systems.

With industry partners, the Space and Missile Systems Center of the U.S. Space Force launched the GPS III Space Vehicle 03, or SV03, on June 30 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The launch sets the third GPS III satellite into space to join the SV01 and SV02 satellites, which were declared operational in January and April.

The GPS III system is the space portion of the Space Force’s effort to modernize the entire GPS capability, offered Tonya Ladwig, acting vice president, Navigation Systems, Lockheed Martin Space.

L3 Technologies Inc., Wilmington, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $9,356,200 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for Wide Field of View testbed, Wide-Area Six-Degree Payload pre-launch and post-launch services. This contract provides for pre-launch and post-launch services to include launch site integration support and preparation, on-orbit calibration and analysis, and mission operations and anomaly resolution services. Work will be performed in Wilmington, Massachusetts, and is expected to be completed by March 2024. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition, and fiscal 2020 research, development, testing and evaluation funds in the amount of $1,275,000 are being obligated at the time of award.

The Raytheon Co., Tucson, Arizona, is being awarded a $17,777,245 firm-fixed-price contract to procure 114 High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile command launch computers to include two pre-production units, one first article test unit and 111 production units in support of the Navy.  Work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona, and is expected to be completed in October 2021. Working capital (Navy); and fiscal year 2017, 2018 and 2019 aircraft procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $17,777,245 will be obligated at time of award, $6,243,087 of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1.

Space Vector Corp., Chatsworth, California (FA8818-19-D-0001); and OrbitalATK Inc., Chandler, Arizona (FA8818-19-D-0002), have been awarded a combined ceiling $424,000,000 multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-incentive-fee, firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee for Sounding Rocket Program-4 (SRP-4). The SRP-4 contract provides suborbital launch services and launch support services necessary to accomplish the Rocket Systems Launch Program’s suborbital mission. This contract will be used to meet Department of Defense and other government agency requirements for sub-orbital research, development, and test launch services, including prototype demonstrations and missile defense targets.
