With key knowledge of the Army’s necessary sensors, intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities, Brig. Gen. Robert Collins, USA, today steps into the role of Program Executive Office Command Control Communications-Tactical, or PEO C3T. Gen. Collins replaces newly promoted Lt. Gen. David Bassett, USA, who becomes the director of the Defense Contract Management Agency.

The ability to provide deep sensing for long-range fires, confront improvised explosive devices, increase the survivability of aircraft, protect forces, and conduct intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, all hinges on an advanced tactical network on the battlefield.

Tinton Falls, New Jersey-based AASKI, a woman-owned small business, announced on July 22 that company had secured a $673 million contract to assist the U.S. Army with sensor technology operations and readiness maintenance (STORM). Under a task order on the Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services Contract, AASKI will provide operations and sustainment support, and modification and integration assistance for mission equipment payloads for selected platforms on government-owned, government-operated; government-owned, contractor-operated; and/or contractor-owned, contractor-operated sensor systems and subsystems.
