BAE Systems Surface Ships Ltd., United Kingdom, is being awarded a $22,172,442 firm-fixed-price contract for the production and delivery of Archerfish Destructors and fiber optic spools. The Archerfish Destructors are a component of the airborne mine neutralization system. The Navy has a mission need to neutralize bottom, close tethered and moored sea mines.
Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Cambridge, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $13 million contract for engineering services in support of transducer and hydrophone programs. Efforts will include research and development in technology areas important to the development of autonomous undersea vehicle (AUV) capability; providing engineering expertise to program sponsors in the acquisition process; and, developing and maintaining the Naval Undersea Warfare Center's fleet of AUV testbed vehicles, facilities and related equipment.
