McLean, Virginia-based BAE Systems will support the U.S. Air Force's Instrumentation Range Support Program (IRSP) by providing a wide range of instrumentation and sustainment services. The seven-year effort, which has a contract celiing of $495 million, includes assistance to U.S. military and government agencies as well as to allies. BAE Systems has been involved in the IRSP for 35 years and under the new contract, BAE will work to ensure the accuracy and operational reliability of tracking systems in support of national security missions, the company reported.

Under a $13.1 million contract award, BAE Systems will demonstrate a new optical seeker for precision-guided munitions for the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), through the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory. The seeker is intended to improve navigation, as well as automate target location and homing, for different types of munitions used in GPS-denied and other contested environments, according to the company. BAE Systems tested the seeker during the first phase of DARPA's Seeker Cost Transformation (SECTR) program. The seeker enables autonomous precision guidance via passive electro-optical and infrared sensors.

BAE Systems Electronics and Information Systems Inc., Nashua, New Hampshire, has been awarded an $81,389,729 firm-fixed-price contract for Digital Electronic Warfare System Countermeasures Missile Warning System spares. Contractor will provide classified and unclassified spares line replacement units and line replaceable modules required for supporting the F-15 modernization program. Work will be performed at Nashua and is expected to be complete by December 31, 2018. This contract is 100 percent foreign military sales to Saudi Arabia. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition.
