The U.S. Army's Tank and Automotive Command has awarded General Dynamics a $14 million contract to purchase long-lead materials for the production of 140 M1A1 SA (situational awareness) tanks for the Iraq program. The SA enhancements include a second generation forward-looking infrared (FLIR) thermal sight, a driver's vision enhancer thermal viewer and Tank Urban Survivability Kit improvements which provide better crew  protection in urban warfare environments.

The U.S. Army has awarded General Dynamics a $322 million contract to serve as prime contractor for the initial outfitting and transition support of the newly renovated Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the newly constructed Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. The company will lead a team of companies providing transition support and planning to move into the facilities, the installation of a variety of medial and information technology equipment, and the relocation of all current equipment to the facilities.

General Dynamics has been awarded a contract with a potential value of $110 million by the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory to produce integrated circuits for the U.S Navy's Trident II submarine launched ballistic missile program. The three-year contract is part of the Navy's Trident Life Extension Electronic Parts Program designed to extend the missile's service life.

The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence has awarded the Raytheon Company-Lockheed Martin Javelin Joint Venture a $176 million contract for more than 1,300 Javelin missile rounds and associated engineering support. The joint venture will begin delivering missiles to the U.K. in 2010 and continue through 2012.

General Dynamics has been awarded an $18.6 million, five-year contract to support the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, under the Seaport-e contract. Under the agreement, the company will provide engineering and technical support of machinery control, machinery information and machinery automation systems.

The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded General Dynamics a $54 million contract modification to produce 24 additional combat operations centers (COCs). The COCs will enable command and control operations by Marines deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, from division or air-wing headquarters to the regimental level.

The company will support the DAU learning asset program, which governs the technology and curriculum used to teach students in the classroom or through the Internet.

The U.S. Navy has awarded CSC a five-year contract with a potential value of $169 million to support the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Program Office. Under the contract, the company will provide program, business and financial management; systems and life-cycle engineering and support; and production planning for LCS seaframes and combat systems currently under construction by Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics.

General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a $22 million contract from the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) to support the Naval Integrated Tactical Environment System Next Generation (NITES-Next) program. The contract has a potential value of $67.7 million over five years. Under the contract, the company will design, develop, integrate, test and support the deployment of NITES-Next, which displays tailored meteorological and oceanographic products on mission planning and command and control systems.

General Dynamics has been awarded a $17 million contract to produce gun systems for the Phalanx Block 1B Close-In Weapon System and the Centurion Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System by Raytheon Missile Systems. The gun systems will be produced at the General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products facility in Saco, Maine.

General Dynamics C4 Systems has been awarded a $7.6 million contract by the National Security Agency (NSA) to develop the KG-530 synchronous optical networks (SONET) OC-768C in-line encryptor. The encryptor will secure very large image, data and video files traveling through U.S. military and government networks.

General Dynamics has been awarded a $110.3 million contract by the U.S. Army Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to modernize classroom training technology. Under the agreement, the company will provide surveying, engineering, design, systems integration, procurement, staging, installation, testing, training, sustainment and technical assistance support to TRADOC and its classroom sites across the country as part of the Technology Classroom Modernization Program.
