The U.S. Air Force awarded a contract to Chandler, Arizona-based Privoro to demonstrate the company's SafeCase anti-surveillance mobile device technology. The solution will be used with the Air Force's Mobile Device Management system to prevent mobile espionage by securely masking microphones and blocking cameras on smartphones, providing users improved 24/7 operational security. The Air Force will also use SafeCase in a blue force tracking platform to enhance Air Force Command Center awareness and improve agent safety for personnel in and outside the United States, the company announced recently.

Actionable Solutions Group LLC (ASG),** Alexandria, Virginia, was awarded a maximum $240,658,061 single award contract (H92402-19-C-0006) with a base year and four one-year options to provide intelligence analyst support to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Fiscal year 2019 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $2,500 are being obligated at time of award. A simple piece of wraparound electronic hardware that shields a mobile phone’s sensors from hackers emerged as the top technology in the final competition of AFCEA International’s small business innovation shark tank. The technology allows its user full access to a phone while blocking the smartphone’s cameras and masking surrounding audio.

Developed by Privoro, an Arizona-based startup, the technology is known as SafeCase. Mike Fong, company CEO, described to the audience at the AFCEA Homeland Security Conference in Washington how a user simply places his or her iPhone into the SafeCase unit, and then chooses the degree of jamming desired.

The Navy selected six companies, all small businesses, to provide command and control (C2) technologies and capabilities in the areas of: innovative science and technology research, systems engineering, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, configuration management, quality assurance, and implementation and support of C2 net-centric military operations. Rockville, Maryland-based Fedmine* recently announced that along with Gartner and Forrester Research it had been awarded a multiple award, fixed-firm price Department of Defense (DOD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) valued at $446 million. The companies will have fixed-price task orders over the life of the contract that runs through 2029.

The Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) aims to connect DOD agencies with commercially-available tools and services. The Navy awarded the BPA via the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule on March 25, 2019. All defense and intelligence agencies, U.S. Coast Guard, state and local governments as well all prime contractors have access to the BPA.
