AT&T Government Solutions Inc., Vienna, Virginia, is awarded an $8,207,565 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise an option for continuation of services and sustainment support of Navy Enterprise 911 routing and management service. This modification increases the estimated value of the contract from $21,978,526 to $30,186,091. The overall potential value of the contract is $39,509,592 if the final option is exercised. Work will be performed throughout the continental U.S.; Navy Region Hawaii; and Joint Region Marianas. The period of performance of this option period is from September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2021.
The Marine Corps is replacing aging communications technology at its U.S recruiting centers and has selected New-York-based MetTel to provide the improved infrastructure. MetTel will upgrade the service’s aging T-1 transmission lines with high speed broadband.
“We are putting broadband Internet services into 1,500 of their recruiting stations,” said Diana Gowen, general manager and senior vice president, MetTel Federal. “Compared to what they had previously, they're saving about 70% in telecommunications costs.”
The U.S. Army has selected Polaris Alpha to provide the Army with advanced telecommunications equipment and services in the Middle East, under an $18 million task vehicle referred to as the Microwave Line of Sight (MLoS) Integration, also known as the Rapid MLoS Network order contract work (RoMaN). The effort will support the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF–OIR) in Kuwait. Under terms of the contract, Polaris Alpha will provide MLoS capabilities for communication and data services across multiple networks.
L-3 Services Incorporated, Mount Laurel, New Jersey, is being awarded a $17 million contract for critical engineering and technical services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division's Special Communications Requirements Division. Services will support legacy, current and next-generation telecommunication and related system requirements for various Navy, Army, Air Force, special operations forces, and other agencies. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
