The TR-343 transducer is part of the AN/SQS-53 hull mounted sonar array assembly which is a component of AN/SQQ-89(V) acoustic sonar weapons system. The AN/SQQ-89(V) is a fully integrated surface ship undersea warfare combat system with the capability to search, detect, classify, localize, and attack submarine targets. The contract will provide fabrication, assembly, inspection, test and delivery of TR-343 sonar transducer shipsets.

Ultra Electronics, Braintree, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $49,200,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with cost-plus-fixed-fee/firm-fixed-price provisions for TR-317/353 submarine transducers. The TR-317/353 submarine transducers detect and localize targets by active sonar and are installed in the main hull-mounted active spherical array on submarines. Large numbers of these transducers are stocked by the Navy to support fleet requirements for new and restored units. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, Rhode Island, is the contracting activity.
Ultra Electronics, TCS, based in Montreal, Canada, has been awarded an order for Electronic Warfare equipment totalling $3.4 million. The system will be delivered to the Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE) in Bangalore, India. Ultra TCS will supply a shelter-based, mobile simulator system including an integrated antenna array and UltraEAGLE 0.5 - 40 GHZ ELINT receiver. The complete system will be used in a test environment to evaluate aircraft EW radar capability and provide an opportunity for pilots to assess the equipment's functionality, specifically the effectiveness of countermeasure techniques.
Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems (Ultra TCS) has been awarded a contract amendment valued at $18.1 million with the Army, in which Ultra TCS supplies AN/TRC-190(V)3 radio assemblage modification kits and associated equipment for the Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program, a critical enabler of LandWarNet. Since January, Ultra TCS has received $10 million under the contract.
