University of Dayton Research Institute, Dayton, Ohio, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, has been awarded a not-to-exceed $96,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for research enabling procurement for aerospace systems. This contract provides for the advancement of the state-of-the-art of propulsion, power, and thermal management technologies for transition to the warfighter. Work will be performed in Dayton, Ohio, and is expected to be completed April 25, 2029. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and 10 offers were received.

University of Dayton Research Institute, Dayton, Ohio, has been awarded a $9,845,965 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the development of Hypersonic Vehicle Flight Test Structure. The contract provides for the design, fabrication, and flight testing of the payload structure on the GOLauncher 1 (GO1) subscale hypersonic flight vehicle. Work will be performed in Dayton, Ohio, and is expected to be complete by August 2022.  Fiscal year 2018 research and development funds in the full amount are being obligated at the time of award. UES Inc., Dayton, Ohio (FA8650-19-D-2904); and University of Dayton Research Institute, Dayton, Ohio (FA8650-19-D-2905), have been awarded a not-to-exceed $99,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for scientific research. This contract provides for scientific exploration for the discovery and/or advancement of power, energy, thermal, integration and control (PETIC) technologies in order to develop enabling materials, processes, devices, modeling and simulation for advanced high performance military weapon systems and emerging applications. Work will be performed at the Air Force Research Laboratory Wright Research Site, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 21, 2024.

University of Dayton Research Institute, Dayton, Ohio, has been awarded a $14,999,880 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the air-launched off-board operations program, which involves small unmanned air systems development including pre-launch and post-launch command and control, system integration, capability development, and flight testing. Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, with an expected completion date of March 1, 2023.  Fiscal year 2017 and 2018 research and development funds in the amount of $290,000 are being obligated at time of award. Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8650-18-C-2808).

Through the use of task orders, air and space vehicle structures research and development will be conducted to deliver future air and space vehicle capabilities to the war fighter.
