Orders issued under the contract will produce a training environment capable of being accessed from Navy electronic classrooms and provide multiple instances of cloud-based training for CANES system administrator training that will be established. The TVE will include a virtualized computing environment that fully replicates the functionality of CANES to provide realistic and testable training and scenarios.

Under a $51 million, 3.5 year delivery order on the Training Systems Contract III, Falls Church, Virginia-based CSRA Incorporated will develop and deliver Integrated Tactical Trainers (ITTs) for the Littoral Combat Ship 6, Independence variant, in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Fla. The ITTs will be installed and operated at the Littoral Combat Training Facility in San Diego. The ITTs will be used as part of CSRA's VirtualShip training platform to help the Navy train its bridge teams for operations at sea.

First responders across the nation may soon be using a virtual training technology that allows multiple types of personnel, such as firefighters, police and paramedics, to train together. The prototype system is currently undergoing live tests with first responders to further refine the program before it is released to federal and state agencies some time in 2014.
