AFCEA STEM Teachers Scholarship Pre-Requisite

The AFCEA Educational Foundation offers scholarships of $2,500 to students actively pursuing a graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) subjects at K-12 U.S. school. The scholarships are made possible by generous contributions from ManTech International Corporation and AFCEA International

To be eligible, students must be U.S. citizens with a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 (or equivalent). Graduate-level candidates must be currently enrolled in at least two semester-equivalent classes at an accredited U.S. college or university and completed a bachelor's degree in a STEM major. Credential and licensure students must have completed at least a bachelor's degree in a STEM major. Expected graduation/completion date cannot be in the year the scholarship is awarded.

Undergraduate students are ineligible to apply.

AFCEA Educational Foundation scholarships can only be used for educational purposes towards tuition, labs, mandatory fees and books. All award checks are written to the university or college to be deposited into student's account.

NOTE: Students enrolled in distance-learning or online programs should contact the Educational Foundation office for clarification on eligibility.

Before you proceed, please prepare for the following:  
Names and email addresses of at least two faculty members in your major having personal knowledge of your degree program, achievements and potential who will provide letters of recommendation. NOTE: Instructions on electronic submissions will be provided to endorsers via email.  
Resume. If currently teaching, the name and email address for school principal for the required additional letter of recommendation.  
Official transcripts showing all college-level study and courses currently in progress. Unofficial undergraduate transcript required.
  • Transcripts must be issued by the Registrar's Office - electronic submissions preferred.
  • Transcripts must be current.
