AFCEA is well-placed, through its wide-ranging membership and corporate supporters, to make a valued contribution to the work of NATO, especially the NATO C3 Agency. AFCEA has already run events at the request of NATO Commands and NATO Agencies and this is a relationship that can be usefully developed over the coming years.

TechNet International was held in conjunction with the NATO C3 Agency’s annual Industry Conference that took place on 19 October and in the first part of the morning on 20 October. Both events provided an opportunity for NATO and industry representatives as well as those from Government and Academia to share ideas for supporting NATO’s transformation to meet today’s operational challenges.

One of the ways to “Support NATO in the Next Decade” is to identify emerging technologies and new opportunities for cooperation between the Alliance, its member states and industry. So TechNet International paid special attention to the technology and its applications, including the magnificent world of "Virtual Reality". It was both a technological and a psychological examination and thus derive applications in both our personal worlds and the defence environment – the border was an interesting place to examine!
