ARMY INTELLIGENCE MODERNIZATION PRIORITIES

The future operational environment will be increasingly lethal, complex, and contested.  Our potential adversaries will develop and use capabilities that deny our ability to globally project power and operate across all warfighting domains. In line with the Army Modernization Strategy, Army Intelligence Modernization priorities requires investing, developing, and fielding systems and platforms with next generation technology. Gaining information advantage over our adversaries will necessitate investment in Science and Technology to improve upon existing sensors, tools, systems, architecture, and processes.

ARMY MI BIG CHALLENGES
Mission Command Intelligence (MCI) is the Army Intelligence Enterprise’s overarching framework to achieve our vision of an Army Intelligence team that is fully capable at the operational and tactical levels, a trained and ready force, and skilled in supporting the commander’s situational understanding in multiple domains against all threats in complex and contested operational environments. It aligns Intelligence planning, development, and resourcing efforts with the Army’s Multi-Domain Operations concept. MCI’s essential components are data, sensors, and analysis empowered by a cloud-based network. It provides commanders the essential means to synchronize all warfighting functions, to deliver sound, timely decisions, and to posture friendly forces with decisive advantage.

INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITIES

PEO IEW&S supports the Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, and Force protection portfolios and works closely with the S&T community to develop and integrate sensors and sensor data across multiple technologies to ensure warfighters have a complete understanding of the operational environment. This is achieved through our ability to assimilate sensor information into relevant, timely products that can be used for targeting; situational awareness; force protection; and reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition. It is essential that our S&T investments enable the Intelligence Architecture in multiple domains. Our current investments in Artificial Intelligence and Stand-Off sensing, by leveraging Space-Based capabilities and technologies through commercial and defense industries, are enabled in our overall modernization enterprise. The team focus on the prototyping ‘try before we buy’ methodology is to enable rapid fielding of incremental capability that is vital to keeping pace with the threat and delivering critical capabilities to warfighters in time to meet their operational requirements.
