COVID-19 Safety Plan for the AFCEA Navy Information Warfare Industry Day
Current as of September 22, 2021
AFCEA is fully committed to holding a rewarding 2021 Navy Information Warfare Industry Day at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Springfield, VA this fall. Our priority is always the health and well-being of our community. Our COVID-19 Safety Plan is a living document that will be updated, as we work closely with the NGA to create a safer experience for the Navy IW Industry Day participants.
All attendees will be required to wear face coverings when indoors or outdoors the NGA Campus, other than when actively eating or drinking or when on-stage speaking. Please bring your own facial covering. A limited supply will be available onsite; inquire at registration.
NGA has currently implemented a policy that all visitors to the NGA must be vaccinated. All in-person attendees must complete the vaccination attestation form for entry into NGA. To speed up the check-in process, please fill out the form, print it, and bring it with you to the VCC security check-in desk the morning of the September 28th.
Staff trained in first aid will be onsite at the NGA Campus and will be able to assist conference participants as needed. Additionally, an isolation area will be provided for individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 who are unable to immediately leave the conference.
Hand sanitizer will be available to attendees
We will do everything we can to ensure that proper social distancing measures are in place, to include spreading out F&B stations and adequate spacing between attendees’ seats in the auditorium and overflow rooms.
Personal Accountability Commitment
Providing a safer environment for our event participants is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. By attending the Navy Information Warfare Industry you agree to abide by and engage in conduct that is beneficial to health and safety while attending the event. This includes, but is not limited to, complying with local regulations, always wearing a mask (except when eating, drinking or onstage speaking), engaging in appropriate physical distancing, and not attending the event if you are ill or have been recently exposed to COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Symptom List will be included in event communications and posted on event signage. Attendees are asked to stay home, or in their hotel room, if they do not feel well or have any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. More details about symptoms of coronavirus can be found at Symptoms of Coronavirus | CDC.
We have taken enhanced health and safety measures and require all persons to follow posted instructions while attending the Navy Information Warfare Industry Day. You must agree to abide by all NGA safety protocols and follow applicable safety precautions.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
By attending the Navy Information Warfare Industry Day you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Help keep each other healthy.
