ABERDEEN CHAPTER CHAPTER - Nov 10, 2012

Young AFCEANs Host Fundraiser

The chapter's Young AFCEANs held the first 5k Run & 1 Mile Walk in November. With approximately 120 walkers and runners, the chapter deemed it a wildly successful event. They raised $7,000 for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs to be shared between the Harford County Boys and Girls Clubs and Edgewood Middle School. Dr. Robert Tomback, superintendent of Harford County Schools, kicked off the event with comments about the importance of STEM education and blew the starting horn. Sixteen awards were given to participants. The chapter thanked its 17 sponsors and 25 volunteers for their contributions to the successful event.
