Luncheon Honors Young AFCEAN

The chapter kicked off its February luncheon by honoring the Young AFCEAN Emerging Leader of the Month, Senior Airman Douglas Clark, USAF, for his continued dedication in supporting the communications mission. Following the award presentation, Col. Kurt Gaudette, USAF, 693 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group commander, gave the keynote presentation. As the ISR Group commander, he operates Distributed Ground Station – 4, which processes, exploits and disseminates various sources of intelligence gathered from aerial platforms flying in remote locations. These high-value assets directly support the combatant commands in theater as well as in operations worldwide. Col. Gaudette also spoke proudly about the mission of his group and the squadrons that make up his team. With his insight into the intelligence mission, the conversation touched on the role of cyber operations. It was clear that the two missions are vitally linked. His views and experiences as both an operator and commander made for an exciting presentation and discussion.
