Young AFCEANS Inaugurate 5K Family Fun Run

The chapter's Young AFCEANs, led by Race Director Chris Molis, sponsored its inaugural 5K Family Fun Run/Walk in September at the historic Minuteman National Park in Lincoln, Massachusetts. More than 85 runners and walkers of all ages (from toddlers to seniors) including several sturdy dogs, participated in this maiden event to benefit the chapter's Education Fund with proceeds targeted to fund scholarships in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. Col. David Hiltz, USAF, board adviser, assisted with after-race master of ceremony duties, handing out awards to the top three finishers and several prized raffle tickets to lucky participants. Generous contributions from numerous corporate sponsors helped make this a memorable and fun event for all.
