CIO on Shaping Cyberspace

In November, the chapter welcomed Randy Cieslak, chief information officer, U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), who spoke on “Shaping Cyberspace for Our Advantage.” He provided insights on how to describe, define and manage cyberspace to maximize its effectiveness and minimize risk. Cieslak is AFCEA's Benjamin H. Oliver Gold Medal for Engineering and Lt. Gen. James M. Rockwell Domestic AFCEAN of the Year Award recipient for 2013. Larry Osborne, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Dreamhammer, was recognized for his work as the chapter's vice president of publicity in 2011. Craig Horiuchi of Wakelight, represented by Wakelight's chief executive officer, Joy Hess, was honored as the Executive of the Month. The AFCEAN of the Month was Jake Ross, PACOM Computer Network Defense section chief. Maj. Joseph Watson, USAF, commander, Air Force Detachment 3, 690th Network Support Squadron, was recognized as the chapter Young AFCEAN of the Month. The chapter congratulates and thanks all its awardees for inspiring the chapter with their outstanding service to the community.
