General on Hawaii National Guard and Homeland Security

In February, the chapter welcomed Maj. Gen. Darryll D.M. Wong, Hawaii Air National Guard, adjutant general, state of Hawaii, who gave an update on the Hawaii National Guard and homeland security. As state adjutant general, he oversees the training and readiness of the 5,500 soldiers and airmen of the Hawaii National Guard. He is also the director of State Civil Defense, provides direct support to the Office of Veterans Services and is the homeland security adviser to the governor. The chapter's Senior Government Leader of the Month was Col. Michael Finn II, USAF, director of communications and chief information officer, headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. Senior Master Sgt. Torry Hickson, USAF, Pacific Theater Info Grid operations leader, Defense Information Systems Agency-Pacific, was recognized as the Young AFCEAN of the Month. The chapter is proud of its awardees for all they do in the service of others.
