Backpacks, Gig Sticks for Needy Military Families

The seventh annual Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) School Liaison Office Build-A-Backpack Drive was conducted July 10 through August 10. The program provides backpacks full of school supplies to the children of local military families in need. The goal of this annual drive is to give students the opportunity to begin the school year successfully with the right tools in hand from day one. The chapter contributed $1,000 to support this effort of breeding academic success through a solid foundation and level of support. Vice President of Corporate Affairs Bill Robinson presented the check to the JBSA team. "It's fantastic that you see this kind of support within the military community and for the kids who need it the most. They even get gig sticks!" he said. Forty backpacks filled with school supplies were donated as a result of this year's efforts.
