AFCEA President Shares Insights on Global Security

The chapter welcomed AFCEA International's president and CEO, Lt. Gen. Robert M. Shea, USMC (Ret.), who spoke at a September luncheon about global security, emphasizing China. He talked about China's plans to confront the United States militarily and economically and in areas such as education, space, intellectual property and global power influence. The Chinese have acquired many U.S. military and R&D plans to advance their developments and further their grand plan, Gen. Shea said. He also talked about threats the United States faces from several terrorist groups that demand the nation's attention and resources. At the same time, Russia's determination to be an influential world power broker while advancing its own agenda should not be underestimated, the general said.
