Education and Professional Development
Ensuring an educated, trained and relevant work force, from early career to advanced training, is part of AFCEA’s value proposition. Scholarships, training and continuing education are available at the international, regional and chapter levels.
AFCEA offers a variety of popular and in-demand professional development courses. The association also has teamed with FedLearn and MindEdge to provide its members with online courses in various areas, including project management, leadership, Agile, Six Sigma and Lean, communication, intelligence, management and women in business. More than 80 courses are available and offered to AFCEANs at a discount. Many courses have been preapproved for PMI PDUs, IACET CEUs and HRCI CEUs. Contact us for more information.
AFCEA actively engages with universities to offer its members advanced education at reduced rates. If your organization would like to become part of this network, contact us.
AFCEA offers continuing education for attending approved sessions at nearly all of its events. Certification organizations CompTIA, GIAC, and CertNexus review session descriptions to determine which sessions support continuing education requirements for cybersecurity certification maintenance. Event sessions may also support (ISC)2, National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Project Management Institute (PMI), GAGAS, and Defense Acquisition Workforce continuing education and/or certification maintenance.
At many AFCEA events, AFCEA members can request formal continuing education attendance documentation as a benefit of their membership. AFCEA members who attend an entire session that qualifies for CompTIA CEUs, GIAC CPEs,, and/or CertNexus CECs may qualify to receive an official email documenting attendance if they scan their badges at the session. AFCEA works with the certifying organizations listed to ensure the documentation meets their requirements. Please see FAQs for info on preparing attendance documentation for approved webinars and online sessions for which AFCEA doesn't provide formal attendance dcoumentation. https://www.afcea.org/site/?q=CE-FAQ.
