Small Business Event
Stepping It Up
Identify the tactics that can help you move business to the next level, while exploring the essential lessons of strategy, business development, cultural issues and operations. In the first session of AFCEA's Growing Your Business in The Federal Marketplace series, you will hear real-world examples and benefit from actionable ideas. The networking session at the end of the event provides a valuable opportunity to expand on what you learned with other attendees.
"The biggest risk is not taking any risk at all..."
This four-hour symposium features industry expert and author David Kriegman, who spent 30 years growing and managing companies that provide professional services to the government. Guy Timberlake brings his contracting experience and small business advocacy as moderator for the interactive industry panel with Ludmilla Parnell, director, business development, small business partnerships, General Dynamics IT, Ralph Buona, vice president, business development, Telos; and Kevin Carroll, president, The Kevin Carroll Group. This is the first in a three-part series to prepare you for full and open competition and enable you to beat bigger companies.
What Attendees Say About the AFCEA Small Business Series
“We’ve reevaluated our business capture approach, company messaging, and networking strategy based on the information presented at February’s course. Aquila’s relationship with AFCEA and our exposure to the learning series has been invaluable, and we look forward to the next educational opportunity.”
—Greg Rosa, Director of Capture Management, Aquila Technology
"I attended the "Taking your Business to the Next Level" panel moderated by Mr. Kriegman. The panel was outstanding and shared wisdom from their years of experience on topics such as: leaning forward in business development, how to create value in your company, what to look for in strategic hires, and how to select a board of advisors. I am pleased that AFCEA is able to deliver such high quality educational opportunities, and I’m glad I attended this one. Anyone interested in growing a business should attend these."
—Rebecca Andino, President & CEO, Highlight Technologies
"We can depend on the AFCEA events being high quality and focused on business needs."
—Bernadette Gagnon, CEO, Bluemont Technology.
