Special Award of Merit

In an effort to recognize the exceptional commitment on the part of individuals who are dedicated to the mission of AFCEA education, in 2005 the AFCEA Educational Foundation established the Special Award of Merit.

This award seeks to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishment of an individual who has contributed to one distinctive and noteworthy aspect of the educational mission of AFCEA. The recipient will have exhibited an indispensable contribution to the success or endurance of an undertaking or experience that has significantly impacted the role of AFCEA within a community or organization.

The Special Award of Merit is reserved for outstanding accomplishment and may not be conferred every year. In exceptional cases, a second award can be bestowed.

Nominations for this award are accepted from AFCEA Chapter presidents, Educational Foundation members, AFCEA International Board members and Executive Committee members.

The Educational Foundation Board of Directors will select the recipient by consensus agreement and present the award at an AFCEA major event.

Note: This award is being discontinued after 2017 and will not be included in the list requesting nominations in 2018.
