Webinar: The Changing Face of Federal Acquisition

Demystifying Simplified Acquisitions

January 23, 2019  at 3:00 PM ET

AFCEA International's Changing Face of Federal Acquisition is a comprehensive and practical exchange of information providing important ground truth for knowing where to be from an acquisition perspective. This is about traditional contracting practices, streamlined procurements, rapid acquisitions and more!

CFA-1: Acquisition Innovation On The Move!

The phrase Procurement Administrative Lead Time resonates throughout government (and the 2018 NDAA) and represents at least part of the attention directed to how efficiently agencies can make buys. Within the world of the FAR, one of the results of increasing PALT conversations was the increase to the Simplified Acquisition Threshold from $150,000 to $250,000.

For this first installment of our webinar series, we're convening thought leaders who speak the language of OTA, PIA, 2373, CSO, QRC, RAC and more. The goal of this discussion is providing succinct and robust explanations of how agencies are utilizing these methods and what the future holds. We'll also discuss some of the misnomers associated with these types of acquisitions, plus Q&A for participants.

Our Acquisition Innovation on the Move thought leaders are:

Lorna Tedder, Rogue Industries LLC - a 30 year veteran of DoD mission-based rapid acquisition contracting
Anne Laurent, The Acquisition Innovators Hub - thought leader with 30 years monitoring federal acquisition strategies and trends
Benjamin McMartin, U.S. Army TARDEC - a federal acquisition change agent currently responsible for 2 consortium-model OTAs

Guy Timberlake, The American Small Business Coalition moderates.
