Why Join AFCEA?
The AFCEA Value Proposition
AFCEA connects people, ideas and solutions globally. We provide an ethical forum for military, government, academic and industry communities to collaborate so that technology and strategy align with the needs of those who serve.
We are a member-based, non-profit association for professionals, providing highly sought after thought leadership, engagement and networking opportunities. Through our corporate and individual member structure, we focus on cyber, command, control, communications, computers and intelligence to address national and international security challenges.
AFCEA offers a variety of networking activities, conferences, symposia, expositions, the award-winning SIGNAL Magazine, mentoring and scholarships. Educational opportunities include professional development courses, approved continuing education sessions at events and documentation for continuing education certifications. Educational opportunities are also available through AFCEA's Preferred Providers.
WE ARE UNIQUE
AFCEA is recognized internationally among other defense, intelligence and service associations. A large and dynamic global chapter network, with more than 138 chapters, guarantees that you will feel at home anywhere in the world. Our unique ability to integrate diverse regional and cultural backgrounds contributes significantly to AFCEA's global reach. In addition to our U.S. headquarters, we have a dedicated office in Europe to support our international partnerships and chapters. Our membership includes nationally and internationally recognized experts in their respective fields who are willing to share their expertise with other AFCEA members.
AFCEA's ethical forum is mandated within our bylaws, which prohibit lobbying, and our educational component, supported by our own Educational Foundation, offers more than $2 million in scholarships annually. Our educational focus is on STEM education, but we also support a variety of other initiatives that help those who serve.
The association believes that engaging younger members is critical to advancement of new ideas, so it integrates support for early career individuals in its culture at all levels. The Young AFCEAN program helps young members gain leadership experience and make connections in our chapters, on our committees and on our board. Within the Intelligence arena, the Emerging Professionals in Intelligence Committee provides a foundation for young individuals to learn, serve and make a difference in that community.
