AFCEA ROTC Scholarship

The AFCEA Educational Foundation ROTC scholarships ranging from $2,000-$3,000 each are awarded to students enrolled full-time in C4I-related major or the following fields of study:

Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics Science, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Resource Management, Intelligence, Mathematics, Network Engineering, Network Security, Operations Research, Physics, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, Statistics, Strategic Intelligence, or Telecommunications Engineering at accredited 4-year colleges or universities in the United States. Majors related to the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation will only be accepted.

*Scholarship awards are subject to availability of funding.


All applications must be endorsed and submitted by the ROTC Professors of Military Science, Naval Science or Aerospace Studies.  Applicants must be at least a second-year college student enrolled full-time as a sophomores or juniors with an overall 3.0 GPA or above at four-year accredited college or university at the time of application submittal. Freshman and senior college students are ineligible to apply.

Note: high school students are not eligible to apply.

All applicants must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in ROTC, be of good moral character, demonstrate academic excellence, have the potential to serve as an officer in the United States Armed Forces, and have a financial need.

In addition, applicants must provide two Letters of Recommendation from faculty in their field of study.  An official transcript including all college-level study as well as courses in progress is also required - can be student-issued copy from Registrar's Office or certified website print-out. See ANNOUNCEMENT below.


Consideration for the Medal of Honor and Distinguished Achievement Scholarships requires all the above with an overall minimum GPA of 3.5 and have a demonstrated potential to serve as an officer in the United States Armed Forces.  Medal of Honor scholarships does not require a major related to the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation.

PLEASE NOTE:  There is ONE APPLICATION FORM for all available ROTC Scholarships.  The letters of recommendation and endorsements must specify additional considerations - see above.


Instructions for electronic submission of the Nomination and Recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line Application process - please do not mail separately.  Letters will be addressed to:

An official transcript reflecting all college-level study will also be required. These items must arrive by the deadline date - electronic submission is preferred to email.  ROTC Students can have their unit verify their unofficial transcript and send by email.
