Business Focus:
JPL is a federally funded research and development center that is operated by the California Institute of Technology. The company performs research, development and other specified tasks for NASA. JPL's primary mission is space exploration and earth sciences, using automated spacecraft such as the Voyager, Galileo, Cassini and Mars Pathfinder missions and remote-sensing instruments. In support of these missions, JPL operates the deep-space network, a facility for communication with and tracking of spacecraft. JPL also performs research and applies its technology in a variety of fields in the national interest, including defense, energy, environment and transportation. The company's defense-related activities are highly synergistic with JPL's skills and NASA's current and long-term interests in space exploration. The primary themes for this work are autonomous robotics, remote sensing and information systems.
Clients:
Government agencies, state and local governments, industry and academia. Work is performed under contract with NASA.
