Arizona State University (ASU) Research Enterprise (ASURE) performs applied research and development that delivers focused innovation and real-world solutions designed to meet the needs of our partners and customers in government and industry. Our direct affiliation with ASU enables ASURE to assemble the intellectual resources, facilities, and other capabilities of the largest single university in the United States to solve our customers' greatest challenges. Our distinctly trans-disciplinary approach brings together expertise across multiple disciplines that are traditionally thought of as being separate, and organizes them into solution and application-focused teams that successfully develop innovative ways of solving some of the most difficult security and defense problems. ASURE's technical staff of applied scientists and engineers works with leading subject matter experts at ASU and customers in solving these problems. We implement and deliver operationally-relevant capabilities that allow our customers to meet their real-world needs. Our cleared staff can accomplish any DoD, IC, or U.S. Government related project. A feature of our approach is drawing upon the significant military veteran community at ASU in support of ASURE and our customers' projects. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business as number one among online graduate programs for veterans and as one of the best schools in the country for online veteran degree programs. Military Times "Best for Vets" program ranked ASU in the top 50 nationally in 2013. ASURE is able to draw upon this talent base to support Human Engineering, concept of operations, and validation studies for a wide variety of systems. These former military system users and experts provide input and information on a wide variety of systems.

Within Supply Chain Management & Integrity, ASURE utilizes a holistic approach to solving logistics and supply chain challenges.  Fundamental to this approach is the use of models and frameworks to capture the supply chain as an entity, break it down to connected components and apply factors to influence performance.  The staff uses various simulations, heuristics, modeling, and decision rules to replicate the control systems in a supply chain.  Once modeled, analysts can apply reverse logistics, network & traffic modeling, data analytics and other cutting edge analysis techniques to create cost and performance optimized solutions.  ASURE personnel collaborate with the University to look beyond these current approaches, to identify what is trending and what will become future "Game Changers".  These include ideas, topics, and concepts such as the effects of counterfeiting, predictive analytics, wireless and real-time event/notification technologies on cost efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability of supply chains.  Current projects include Navy studies on Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) cost and sustainability impacts for integration into Program of Record (POR) baselines.  New efforts are going to focus on Supply Chain planning to reduce the sustainment tail for expeditionary forces.

ASURE's capabilities under advanced computer science include Data Mining & Machine Learning, Information Assurance & Cyber Security, Distributed Computing, Cyberphysical & Embedded Systems, Enterprise Systems, and Virtualized & Assisted Learning.  Active research areas include social media tracking and analytics, big data and data mining, network traffic analysis, and advanced test and evaluation.   We are able to build upon ASU's Information Assurance Center currently accredited by NSA to provide relevant information Assurance solutions.

ASURE's capabilities under Advanced & Behavioral Analytics, Algorithms and Modeling including industrial statistics tools, mathematical modeling, production logistics and enterprise information systems. In addition to traditional roles in manufacturing and management consulting, more industrial engineering concepts are spreading to the financial, logistics and health care service industries affording new application areas. Active research areas include supply chain modeling and analytics, big data and data modeling, and Six Sigma Blackbelt services.

We are currently on ENCORE II, NETCOM's CNOSS, AMCOM Express, R23G, WEBS, DS TAT and DTRA contract vehicles. We continue to add vehicles based on customer needs.
