Mr. Alex Nicklas Director, DoD Programs Iridium Communications Inc. Industry Representative Mr. Alexander Nicklas, Director of DoD Programs, Iridium Communications, Inc. Mr. Nicklas has held many positions from Manager, Sales Associate, Account Executive, Business Development Manager, Director of DoD Programs and Director of Sales. These roles have placed Alex in leadership and management positions in high technology and communications companies. The past 10+ years have been dedicated to learning and achieving tough goals in the technology world. As a Sales Executive Alex has worked with DARPA developed artificial intelligence and agent based technologies. With these technologies he has successfully integrated and deployed project and asset management tools to fortune 500 and Government Agencies. He has spent over 8 years focused on Multi-Level Security and Cross Domain solutions working to optimize the accreditation process and bring highly efficient desktop solutions to the DoD and Intelligence communities. He has also provided oversight and guidance with thin client deployments and virtualization services to many large deployments and agencies. He has worked with other technologies including IPv6 features, Citrix, Microsoft, and encryption services and has organized symposium event based upon these topics. The past 3+ years, Alex has worked with Communications and Satellite services and is currently working for Iridium Satellite. He leads the Business Development to the US government and has worked to successfully deploy large tracking and monitoring services to Afghanistan in support of our dedicated troops. He is currently leading a software development effort of the Iridium waveform to be implemented on software defined radios and other software defined products. He has expertise in strategic communications, marketing, program management and strategic planning. He has led corporate participation in trade shows, customer demos, advertising, technical literature development and program and technology branding. He is a polished and professional speaker and writer, as well as an experienced briefer. Alex has been on the AFCEA Technology Committee for 5 years and enjoys a busy schedule with work, children, soccer, golf, and other sports and distractions. Mr. Nicklas has an Associate’s Degree from Northern Virginia Community College and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from George Mason University in Business Administration and Computer Science. |
