Outreach to Potential Young AFCEANs through Awards by Portugal Chapter

We have created Awards to distinguish students with the best academic achievements and outstanding projects in the areas of Defense and Security. This is an encouragement to young people in military schools and universities to work with AFCEA in the future. Each Award includes an offer sponsored by an AFCEA corporate member and is handed out by the Chapter President and by company representative at a ceremony that usually coincides with the opening of the academic year.

Re-naming Awards by Monterey Chapter

In 2010, we were successful in re-naming two awards to posthumously honor a lifetime distinguished AFCEA member Dr. John McReynolds Wozencraft. Wozencraft is recognized world wide for his seminal contributions in communications engineering and information theory advancements at MIT and his leadership in interdisciplinary research and graduate education in C3 and C3I at the Naval Postgraduate School, sponsored by the Secretary of Defense in 1974.
