| Chapter Focus |
The Stuttgart Chapter of AFCEA attracts a variety of senior military, Government civilian, and DOD contractor members due to its association with numerous DOD senior commands located in the area, including HQ U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), HQ U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), the Special Operations Command-Europe (SOCEUR), and the Defense Information Systems Agency-Europe (DISA-Europe). Elements of U.S. Army Rangers and Special Forces, U.S. Navy Seals, and U.S Marine Forces-Europe (MARFOREUR) are all located in Stuttgart.
The Stuttgart Chapter, which now averages over 150 members, saw its number of Life Members increase to 36 during the past year. Numerous members have won individual service and leadership awards in the past few years and the Chapter itself has been recognized with numerous awards. Chapter activities include multiple AFCEA luncheons which feature high-level DOD IT leaders and managers with corporate sponsorship ensuring low-cost and, in some cases, no-cost attendance. The Chapter also co-sponsors two major Tech Expos each year in Winter and Summer as well as Professional Development Staff Rides to corporate facilities in Germany.
Additionally, the Stuttgart Chapter prides itself on an outstanding Scholarship program which annually honors high school seniors and multiple teachers with cash grant awards in excess of $15,000 annually.
Further, the Stuttgart Chapter sponsors an Annual AFCEA Golf Classic which is one of the primary fundraisers for the Scholarship Program. |
