Utah State to Develop Missile Defense Technologies under $150 Million Contract

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of an indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory, Logan, Utah, with an award value of $150 million. Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory will work with MDA to provide technology development for electro-optic sensor systems, space rated instrument and payload development data, essential engineering, research, and development capabilities and services in the development of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory is a university affiliated research center sponsored by MDA as designated by the director of defense research and engineering. The MDA, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.

Space Dynamics Laboratory to Provide Technologies for Situational Awareness

The Utah State University Research Foundation's Space Dynamics Laboratory has received a $10 million contract for the development and demonstration of new and innovative technologies that provide tactical assets for the battlefield using affordable plug-and-play components. The assets will be designed to provide key actionable intelligence and battlefield situational awareness using information collected from ground, air and space systems. Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, is the contracting activity.
