General Dynamics to Modernize Submarine Networks

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Fairfax, Va., was awarded two contracts totaling $50 million to support the continued modernization of the AN/BYG-1 combat control system aboard U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Navy submarines. The AN/BYG-1 modernization program integrates the tactical control, weapons control and tactical network subsystems to provide submarine fleet operators and commanders with a common operational picture that enhances real-time intelligence and improves situational awareness. General Dynamics will continue to upgrade the submarine electronics with commercial off-the-shelf software and hardware that integrates improved tactical and weapons control capabilities across multiple submarine classes.

Progeny to Provide Combat Control System to Australia

Progeny Systems Corp., Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $7,050,538 cost-plus-fixed fee contract with firm-fixed-price line items for continued support of the multi-tube weapon simulator (MTWS) and common weapon launcher (CWL) products and services.This procurement will provide the necessary technical services and associated products to support technology improvements and enhanced capabilities for in-service CWL and MTWS systems in support of the AN/BYG-1 combat control system.This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $19,165,448.This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy and the government of Australia under the Foreign Military Sales Program.The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-13-C-6259).

GD Supports U.S and Australian Tactical Control Systems

GD to Continue Migrating Submarine Combat Control Technology

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems Incorporated, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is being awarded $20,153,731 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract modification for continued migration of the AN/BYG-1 weapons control system from a technology insertion (TI) 10 baseline to a TI-12; integration of advanced processing build 11; and delivery of capability multiple submarine platforms. The AN/BYG-1 is the combat control system common across submarine platforms. The system incorporates tactical control, weapon control, and tactical local area network functions into a single development program. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC, is the contracting activity.
