Two Firms to Support Airborne Sensors in Afghanistan

Science Applications International Corporation, McLean, Va., was awarded a $179,585,058 firm-fixed-price, non-option-eligible, non-multi-year contract in support of the Saturn Arch program and provides continued operations, sustainment and integration of aircraft platforms configured to host a suite of sensors deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (W58RGZ-13-C-0134). SRI International, Menlo Park, Calif., was awarded a $62,337,287 firm-fixed-price, non-option-eligible, non-multi-year contract in support of the Desert Owl program and provides continued operations, sustainment and integration of aircraft platforms configured to host a suite of sensors deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (W58RGZ-13-C-0135). These are hybrid contracts containing both fixed-price and cost-reimbursement line items. The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal (Aviation), Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity.

SRI to Provide Tools for Rapidly Extracting Visual Intelligence

SRI International, Menlo Park, California, is being awarded a $12,735,834 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to create visual exploitation and indexing tools to rapidly extract mission-relevant visual intelligence from large quantities of diverse, ill-defined, unstructured imagery captured from multiple adversary sources. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York, is the contracting activity.

SRI Receives Contract for Language Translation Technology

SRI International, Menlo Park, California, is being awarded a $7,147,416 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The Broad Operational Language Technology Program has a goal of creating technology capable of translating multiple foreign languages in all genres, retrieving information from the translated material, and enabling bilingual communication via speech or text. Specifically, this contractor will conduct work for activities a), genre-independent translation and information retrieval system; b), human-machine communication system; c), human-human dialogue system; and d), Arabic dialect components. Work will be performed at several U.S. locations; Hong Kong; Edinburgh, United Kingdom and Marseille, France. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is the contracting activity.

SRI Awarded CRASH Cloud Computing Contract

SRI International of Menlo Park, California, is being awarded a $7,491,195 cost plus fixed fee contract to be a companion program to the existing Clean-slate design of resilient, adaptive, secure hosts (CRASH) effort. CRASH takes a clean-slate approach to limiting the vulnerabilities within each host. Modular research-based composably trustworthy mission-oriented resilient clouds is concerned with the amplifying effect of the network, seeking to turn this around and use the network as a vulnerability damper and a source of resiliency. Deliverable items include prototype software, hardware and reports. Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome New York, is the contracting activity.

SRI to Support Desert Owl-1 Airborne Penetrating Radar in Iraq

SRI International, Menlo Park, California, was awarded a $49 million contract, in which the government requires SRI International, under the direction of engineering research and development center and with assistance from the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization to provide necessary support, material and equipment, including training center and mobile ground station, to continue operations in Iraq of Desert Owl-1, an existing advanced airborne penetrating radar system. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering Research and Development Center Contracting Office, Vicksburg, Mississippi, is the contracting activity.

SRI to Support U.S. Army National Guard Virtual Training

SRI International, Menlo Park, California, is being awarded a more than $22 million contract to provide Flextrain System multi-mission training support to the U.S. Army National Guard. This requirement is for the Flextrain System to support the Exportable Combat Training Capability and Mobile Virtual Training Capability for the Army National Guard. Flextrain provides multi-level/multi-mission support in a wide variety of training environments. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
