Continuing Education Lunch and Learn Program by ArkLaTex Chapter
The Young AFCEAN Program chartered a plan and developed a
free Continuing Education Lunch and Learn Program. Through
this series, credentialed military members were able to
maintain compliance with Department of Defense (DoD)
requirements for the Information Assurance Workforce and
non-military members received credit for training hours to
maintain their information technology (IT) certifications.
Since the program's start, members of the local community
acquired over 80 hours of continuing education credit.
Technical experts in the region presented topics such as
Hacking and Social Engineering to a diverse audience of
local military, DoD civilians and contractors, local IT
professionals, and educators. Furthermore, through ties made
at these events, the Young AFCEAN Program Chairman secured a
sponsorship arrangement with the local co-working
organization, CoHabitat, in Shreveport-Bossier City that
allows the ArkLaTex Chapter to have access to office space
for meetings as well as providing the chapter a location for
members to work special projects in one of CoHabitat's
specially designated "roving desk" work areas.
