Re-naming Awards by Monterey Chapter

In 2010, we were successful in re-naming two awards to posthumously honor a lifetime distinguished AFCEA member Dr. John McReynolds Wozencraft. Wozencraft is recognized world wide for his seminal contributions in communications engineering and information theory advancements at MIT and his leadership in interdisciplinary research and graduate education in C3 and C3I at the Naval Postgraduate School, sponsored by the Secretary of Defense in 1974. The first re- named quarterly and annual awards were presented in June 2010. A Wozencraft Awardees Luncheon was organized to honor the 116th John McReynolds Wozencraft Electrical & Computer Engineering Academic Honor awardee LT Konstantinos F. Charisis, Hellenic Navy and the 23rd AFCEA John McReynolds Wozencraft awardee for Academic Excellence in Joint C4I LT Jessica L. Poniatoski, U. S. Navy
