Description: |
In an increasingly complex and threatening world,
the security of airspace has become an even
greater strategic priority for Italy. The Italian
Air Force plays a crucial role in safeguarding the
national airspace, making a fundamental
contribution to broader National Security, a role
mandated by law. In this context, the Rome Chapter
of AFCEA International, in a year that marks the
centenary of the establishment of the Italian Air
Force, has decided to organize a conference on
Surveillance and Defense of Italian Airspace:
The event will highlight the organizational,
operational, and technological aspects of the
Italian air surveillance and defense system,
showcasing the cutting-edge expertise and
technology that characterize the Italian Air
Force. It will delve into the systems that form
the backbone of Italian air surveillance and how
these advanced means and technologies are
coordinated by highly specialized command centers
to detect and monitor any potential threat, thus
ensuring the security of Italian airspace. It will
also illustrate an aspect that has characterized
Italian Air Defense from the beginning, which is
the close daily coordination with Civil Air
Traffic. The event will also emphasize the
importance of international cooperation, with a
focus on the collaboration between the Italian Air
Force and NATO.
Additionally, the conference will examine the
current challenges and future prospects of
airspace surveillance and defense in Italy, which
are represented by digitalization and the
proliferation of threats, along with the
opportunities offered by technological innovation.
The conference will commence with two keynote
speeches by two high-level representatives, one
from the Italian Air Force and one from Leonardo,
a leading defense company. Following these
speeches, there will be presentations from the Air
Squad Command, the Logistics Command, Teledife,
ENAV, and the industrial sector. |
