Presentation Addresses Secure Networks

Ronald Buschur, president and chief executive officer of Powerwave Technologies, served as the guest speaker for the chapter's August luncheon. Buschur briefed luncheon attendees on Powerwave Technologies' capabilities for providing mission-critical, secured wireless networks for government, military, homeland security and public safety agencies. Powerwave's solutions and services can help public agencies and governments reduce their capital and operating expenses; speed rollout of services; improve coverage and capacity; and reduce environmental impact. Buschur provided information on several of his company's products, including the Ultra Smart Pico Broadband Base Station and the Ultra Broadband Secured Adaptive Software Defined Network. Additionally, the Powerwave team provided a static display of their RapidFlex ™ Rapid Mobile Deployment Unit (RMDU). A self-contained transportable communications site, the RMDU is capable of providing network connectivity in support of emergency services, special events or military operations.
