Dr. Derrick L. Tinsley of Strayer University presented a talk in August on the state of the art in continuing education. He discussed the evolution of technology in the higher education classroom and how these technological advancements widen the playing field for adult professional students who are working to better themselves. Options for on-campus versus on-line learning were discussed as well as the full gamut of hybrid alternatives to fill the gaps of all types of learners and work/life scenarios. Other chapter business included presentation of the Model Chapter Award, which the chapter recently received. Andy Anderson presented the Model Chapter Award ribbon to Dan Steele, chapter president, as Anderson himself moved into a reduced participation in the chapter. The chapter will sincerely miss Anderson and hopes he will bless them with his presence as often as he can.
